Centranthus ruber Alba
“Alba†is a variety of Centranthus grown for its sprays of lovely flowers. From spring through summer it bears clusters of small, white flowers at the ends of stems. The stems host dark green foliage which provides a lovely contrast to the flowers. This upright, herbaceous perennial typically grows to 1 m tall and 75 cm wide, growing best in full sun, on a well-drained, sheltered site that is frost free. This plant is commonly grown in cottage gardens, used in “white†gardens, planted in borders, or included in mixed plantings.
