Canna Tropicanna Gold features lush foliage coupled with impressive flowers. The large leaves are striped green and gold and provide a lush and lovely backdrop to the flowers. Stems rise above the foliage in summer carrying large and showy, orange-yellow flowers with dark orange, speckled throats. This herbaceous perennial will grow to about 1.2 m tall and 70 cm wide. In cold environments the plants may die back during winter but will regrow again as temperatures warm in spring. Canna Lilies grow best on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun or partial shade. They are tolerant of light frost and moderately heavy soils. Canna Tropicanna Gold is commonly included in tropical gardens, planted alongside water features such as ponds and stream, included in a mixed planting, or planted around outdoor living areas. Mass plantings are both stunning and very rewarding with this variety.
