Canna South Pacific is grown for its impressive flowers and foliage. In summer it produces tall spikes carrying masses of red-orange flowers. The spikes may reach 1.5 m above the large, mid-green foliage. It grows as a clump and typically reaches 1.2 m tall and 1 m wide. In cold environments the plants may die back during winter to regrow again in spring. Canna Lilies grow best on a well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade though they are generally tolerant of cold environments and wet soils. A mass planting is very rewarding.
