Canna President is a variety of Canna Lily grown for its impressive flowers and foliage. In summer it produces tall spikes carrying masses of red flowers. The mid-green leaves are large and blend nicely with the flowers. It grows as a clump to about 1.2 m tall and 1 m wide though in cold environments plants may die back during winter to regrow again in spring. Canna Lilies grow best on a well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade though they are generally tolerant of cold environments and wet soils. Canna President is commonly used in tropical gardens, grown in a container, planted alongside water features, added to mixed plantings, or included in wetter areas. A mass planting is very rewarding.
