Canna musifolia is a variety of Canna Lily grown for its impressive flowers and foliage. It features large and showy, salmon pink flowers which are produced sporadically through winter and spring. The flowers are held on a solid stem above the lush, purple-green foliage. It grows as a clump and will typically reach 1.5 m tall and 70 cm wide. In cold environments plants may die back during winter to regrow again in spring. Canna Lilies grow best on a well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade though they are generally tolerant of cold environments and wet soils. Canna musifolia is commonly used in tropical gardens, grown in a container, planted alongside water features, added to mixed plantings, or included in wetter areas. A mass planting is very rewarding.
