Canna 'Mango'

How to grow Canna 'Mango' in NZ

Canna 'Mango' grows best in full sun with moist, fertile, well drained soil rich in organic matter. Choose a warm sheltered position protected from strong winds to encourage strong growth and prolific flowering. Incorporating compost into the soil at planting time improves moisture retention and supports healthy root development. Water regularly during dry periods, especially through summer when plants are actively growing. Applying mulch around the base helps conserve moisture, suppress weeds, and maintain warm soil conditions.

Canna 'Mango' care tips

Canna 'Mango' is relatively low maintenance and rewards gardeners with vibrant flowering displays through the warmer months. Water consistently during dry weather to keep foliage lush and flowers developing well. Feed with a balanced fertiliser during spring and summer to support vigorous growth and continued blooming. Remove spent flower stems regularly to encourage additional flowers and maintain a tidy appearance. In colder areas, cut plants back after frost and protect rhizomes with mulch through winter.
