Canna Frau Gartenburg is a variety of Canna that features beautiful flowers and foliage. It produces impressive, yellow flowers with an orange throat. These are held on a solid stem above the foliage from spring through autumn. The leaves are upright, large, and green with a coloured margin. It grows as a large clump and typically reaches 1.2 m tall and 1 m wide. In cold environments plants may die back during winter to regrow again in spring. Canna Lilies grow best on a well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade though they are generally tolerant of cold environments and wet soils. Canna Frau Gartenburg is commonly used in tropical gardens, grown in a container, planted alongside water features, added to mixed plantings, or included in wetter areas. A mass planting is very rewarding.
