Billbergia nutans, commonly known as Queens Tears, is an herbaceous perennial grown for its cascading nature and pretty flowers. It produces pendulous stems that bear showy, tubular, pink and purple flowers in summer. The foliage is strap like, dark green, and has a steady arch as it grows to 40 cm tall and the same wide. Billbergia nutans is commonly grown as a potted plant, used in hanging baskets, included in a mixed planting, or planted so it can trail over a wall or the like.
