Bergenia Pink Snow Cloud is grown for its lush foliage and pretty flowers. The leaves are large and arranged as a somewhat flat rosette. They tend to be glossy green but as temperatures cool, they develop red-bronze tones. Colourful, pale pink flowers are borne from late winter through spring on short stems which emerge from the centre of the plant. It grows as a tidy clump to about 30 cm tall and 40 cm wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of moderate frost, cool climates, short periods of dry, and a wide range of soil conditions, except extreme wet or dry. In cooler areas the plants may die back during winter to regrow again when conditions warm. Bergenia Pink Snow Cloud is a very fashionable and hardy plant that is ideal for border planting or mass planting as a groundcover. It is often used in cottage gardens, planted around outdoor living areas, or maintained in a container.
