Astilbe 'Fuchsia Spangles'

How to grow Astilbe 'Fuchsia Spangles' in NZ

Grow Astilbe 'Fuchsia Spangles' in partial shade in a sheltered position, using moisture retaining soil that drains freely. Work organic matter into the planting area and set the crown at the original soil level. Water thoroughly and mulch lightly without covering the crown. Maintain consistent moisture while establishing. Avoid scorching afternoon sun and drying winds. Containers need drainage holes and a quality potting mix that stays evenly moist. Check moisture regularly as the new roots settle into their surroundings.

Astilbe 'Fuchsia Spangles' care tips

Care for Astilbe 'Fuchsia Spangles' by matching moisture and feeding to its growing season. Keep the soil evenly moist through dry periods without allowing it to become waterlogged. Apply a suitable fertiliser during active growth and refresh organic mulch when needed. Remove old flower stems and damaged leaves. Protect fresh growth from slugs and snails, and avoid overcrowding. In pots, check moisture more often during warm or windy weather. Regular checks help you respond promptly to changing conditions.

Astilbe 'Fuchsia Spangles' typically reaches about 40 cm tall and 25 cm wide under suitable conditions.
