Argyranthemum frutescens

How to grow Argyranthemum frutescens in NZ

Argyranthemum frutescens grows best in full sun and free draining soil to maximise flowering. Select a warm, open position that receives at least six hours of sunlight daily. Water regularly during dry spells but avoid waterlogged soil. A slow release fertiliser in spring supports vigorous new growth. Light trimming after flowering flushes helps maintain shape and encourages more blooms throughout the season.

Argyranthemum frutescens care tips

Caring for Argyranthemum frutescens is simple and low maintenance. Remove spent blooms regularly to encourage continuous flowering. Water deeply during hot summer weather, allowing the topsoil to dry between waterings. Feed every few weeks with liquid fertiliser to maintain lush growth and ongoing blooms. Give the plant a light trim in mid season if it becomes leggy, helping it stay tidy and productive.
