Arctotis 'Silverdust Pink'

How to grow Arctotis 'Silverdust Pink' in NZ

Arctotis 'Silverdust Pink' grows best in full sun and well drained soil, excelling in hot and dry conditions. Choose an open, sunny site to maximise flowering and maintain compact growth. Avoid heavy or waterlogged soils, as Arctotis prefers lean, free draining ground. Water plants during establishment, then reduce watering once mature. It thrives across coastal, inland, and exposed New Zealand gardens.

Arctotis 'Silverdust Pink' care tips

Arctotis 'Silverdust Pink' is naturally tough and easy to care for. Remove spent blooms to encourage continuous flowering through the season. Trim lightly if the plant becomes leggy or untidy. Avoid excessive fertiliser and overwatering, as rich soil reduces flowering performance. It is naturally resistant to most pests and diseases, making it ideal for low maintenance planting.

Arctotis 'Silverdust Pink' size, spacing, and growth rate

Arctotis 'Silverdust Pink' typically reaches twenty to thirty centimetres tall and spreads up to fifty centimetres wide. Its spreading, mat forming habit makes it ideal as a ground cover or filler. Space plants forty to fifty centimetres apart to allow room for natural spreading. It grows quickly in warm conditions, forming a dense canopy that suppresses weeds.

Landscaping uses for Arctotis 'Silverdust Pink'

Arctotis 'Silverdust Pink' is ideal for sunny borders, banks, rockeries, and coastal plantings. Its silver foliage and soft pink blooms create a beautiful contrast and pair well with grasses, succulents, and other drought tolerant species. It excels in hot areas, including driveways and slopes. This variety also shines in mass plantings for a soft yet vibrant display.
