Arctotis 'Mauve Delight'

How to grow Arctotis 'Mauve Delight' in NZ

Arctotis 'Mauve Delight' grows best in full sun and well drained soil, performing exceptionally in hot, dry, and coastal conditions. Choose an open position that receives plenty of sunlight to encourage strong flowering. Avoid heavy or waterlogged soils, as Arctotis prefers lean, dry ground. Water as needed during establishment, then reduce to minimal watering. It is a reliable performer in both inland and coastal New Zealand gardens.

Arctotis 'Mauve Delight' care tips

Caring for Arctotis 'Mauve Delight' is easy due to its naturally tough and resilient nature. Remove spent blooms to promote further flowering through the season. Trim lightly if plants become leggy or to keep them looking tidy. Avoid rich soils and heavy fertilisers, as these can reduce flowering. It is generally pest and disease resistant and ideal for low maintenance gardening.

Arctotis 'Mauve Delight' size, spacing, and growth rate

Arctotis 'Mauve Delight' typically reaches twenty to thirty centimetres in height and spreads up to forty centimetres wide. Its spreading growth makes it an excellent ground cover or filler between other low growing plants. Space plants forty to fifty centimetres apart to allow room for natural spreading. It grows quickly in warm conditions, forming a dense, weed suppressing mat.
