Arctotis 'Hayley'

How to grow Arctotis 'Hayley' in NZ

Arctotis 'Hayley' grows best in full sun and free draining soil, making it ideal for warm and dry parts of New Zealand. Choose an open, sunny location to encourage abundant flowering and compact growth. Avoid heavy or waterlogged soils as Arctotis prefers lean, dry ground. Water during establishment, then reduce watering as the plant matures. It thrives in coastal, inland, and exposed areas across the country.

Arctotis 'Hayley' care tips

Arctotis 'Hayley' requires minimal maintenance and suits gardeners looking for easy care colour. Remove spent blooms regularly to promote ongoing flowering. Trim lightly if plants stretch or lose shape. Avoid heavy fertiliser and excessive watering, as these encourage soft growth and fewer flowers. It is naturally resistant to pests and diseases, making it reliable and low care.

Arctotis 'Hayley' size, spacing, and growth rate

Arctotis 'Hayley' typically grows twenty to thirty centimetres tall and spreads up to fifty centimetres wide. Its spreading mat like growth makes it ideal for ground cover, bank stabilisation, or filler planting. Space plants forty to fifty centimetres apart to allow for natural spreading. It grows rapidly in warm weather and forms a dense canopy that helps reduce weeds.

Landscaping uses for Arctotis 'Hayley'

Arctotis 'Hayley' suits sunny borders, coastal areas, rock gardens, and dry banks.
