This variety of Anigozanthos flavidus, commonly known as Kangaroo Paw, is grown for its unusual flowers. It produces clusters of tubular, green-coloured flowers through spring and summer. The flowers are great for attracting birds. These are held on wiry, red stems above the strap-like, green leaves. This perennial grows as a clump to about 1 m tall and 1.5 m wide, preferring a full sun or partial shade position on a well-drained soil. It is tolerant of frost and dry periods once established. Anigozanthos flavidus Green is commonly used in rock gardens, included in borders or mixed plantings, or maintained in a container. The flowers bring an interesting and sensational display and also make an excellent cut flower.
