Anemone sylvestris, commonly known as the Snowdrop Anemone, is grown for its showy, white flowers and lovely form. The flowers are produced from summer through into early autumn and are held on slender stems above the lush, mid green foliage. This herbaceous perennial typically grows to 40 cm tall and 25 cm wide, though may die back in cooler environments to regrow again when temperatures warm. Best results with this plant are achieved when it is planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. Anemone sylvestris is commonly used in cottage gardens, maintained in a container, included in borders and mixed plantings, or mass planted for a dramatic display.
