Agapanthus Snowball is a dwarf variety of Agapanthus that produces showy clusters of white flowers in summer. The flowers are held as reasonably tight balls above the strap-like, green foliage. This herbaceous perennial forms a tidy clump as it grows to 40 cm tall and 60 cm wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of moderate frost, coastal conditions, some wind, dry periods, and heavier soils. Agapanthus Snowball is a versatile plant that can be used as a low maintenance option on drier sites or in situations with poor soil conditions such as a clay bank. It is also commonly used in borders and mixed plantings, mass planted as a groundcover, maintained in a container, included in cottage or “white” gardens, or planted around outdoor living areas. A mass planting is the best way to showcase this plant.
