The clusters are borne on solid stems above the foliage and contrast nicely with the strap like, dark green foliage as it grows to about 70 cm tall and the same wide. Agapanthus Donau is commonly included in border plantings, in mixed plantings, planted around the barbecue area, in cottage gardens, for cut flowers, or grown in a container.

Agapanthus Donau produces trumpet shaped, pale blue flowers through summer. The clusters are borne on solid stems above the foliage and contrast nicely with the strap like, dark green foliage. It grows as a clump to about 70 cm tall and the same wide, growing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. Agapanthus are hardy plants and will grow well on heavier soils. They are also tolerant of cool climates, coastal climates, and dry periods. Agapanthus Donau is commonly included in border plantings, in mixed plantings, planted around the barbecue area, in cottage gardens, for cut flowers, or grown in a container. A mass planting looks spectacular.
