Agapanthus Bressingham Blue produces a bounty of pendulous, trumpet shaped, dark blue flowers through summer. Each flower has a dark stripe and emerges from a dark blue bud. The clusters are borne on solid stems above the foliage and contrast nicely with the strap like, dark green foliage. It grows as a clump to about 60 cm tall and the same wide, growing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. Agapanthus are hardy plants and will grow well on heavier soils. They are also tolerant of cool climates, coastal climates, and dry periods. Agapanthus Bressingham Blue is commonly included in border plantings, in mixed plantings, planted around the barbecue area, in cottage gardens, for cut flowers, or grown in a container. A mass planting looks spectacular.
