Actaea Pink Spike is a variety of the commonly known, Bugbane or Baneberry, and is grown for its impressive flowers and foliage. This herbaceous perennial produces scented, bottlebrush-like, pink flowers on long and slender stems which rise above the foliage from summer through autumn. The foliage comprises lush, dark brown-purple leaves which provides a great complement to the flowers as it grows to 90 cm tall and 60 cm wide. Actaea Pink Spike is commonly used in borders, mixed plantings, grown in a container, used in cottage gardens, or planted around the base of larger trees and shrubs.

Actaea simplex Pink Spike Details

Actaea Pink Spike is a variety of the commonly known, Bugbane or Baneberry, and is grown for its impressive flowers and foliage. This herbaceous perennial produces scented, bottlebrush-like, pink flowers on long and slender stems which rise above the foliage from summer through autumn. The foliage comprises lush, dark brown-purple leaves which provides a great contrast to the flowers. It typically grows to 90 cm tall and 60 cm wide, performing best in full sun on a well-drained site with good summer moisture. It is tolerant of light frost, coastal environments, and partial shade though in this instance leaf colouring will be less intense. Actaea Pink Spike is commonly used in borders, mixed plantings, grown in a container, used in cottage gardens, or planted around the base of larger trees and shrubs.
