Bears Breeches, Oyster Plant

Acanthus mollis, commonly known as Bears Breeches or the Oyster plant, is an herbaceous perennial featuring lush foliage and striking flowers. Spikes bear purple and white hooded flowers from late spring through early summer. The plant grows to about 80 cm tall and wide. Commonly mass planted beneath trees, in mixed borders, along paths, or in containers.
