Chamaerops humilis Cerifera, commonly known as Atlas Mountain Palm or Dwarf Fan Palm, is an evergreen Palm typically grown as a large shrub. It often grows with several erect stems and becomes a rounded mass of fan shaped leaves. The fans are about 45 cm long and powder-blue in colour. Short stems carrying clusters of yellow flowers are borne in summer and give rise to small, orange berries. It typically grows to 4 m tall and 2.5 m wide, performing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is hardy to coastal environments, moderate frost, and dry periods. Chamaerops Cerifera is commonly used in Mediterranean gardens, added to mixed plantings, maintained in a container, or grown as a specimen.
