Ophiopogon planiscapus Black Dragon is a variety of the commonly known, Mondo Grass, and is grown for its fine, near black foliage. The foliage is complemented with flower spikes in summer which bear tiny, lilac flowers as it grows to 15 cm tall and the same wide. Ophiopogon planiscapus Black Dragon is a variety of the commonly known, Mondo Grass, and is grown for its fine, near black foliage. The foliage is complemented with flower spikes in summer which bear tiny, lilac flowers and are followed by blue-black berries. It typically grows to 15 cm tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It will tolerate frost, cool climates, and dry periods once established.
