Liriope 'Silver Dragon' Details

Liriope spicata ‘Silver Dragon’, commonly known as Creeping Lilyturf, is grown for its pretty flowers and tidy foliage. This herbaceous perennial grows as a clump and produces arching, strap-like leaves which are variegated white and green. Short stems carrying masses of tiny, pale lavender flowers emerge amidst the foliage in summer and result in black berries in autumn. This Creeping Lilyturf typically grows to 45 cm tall and the same but will spread to colonise a larger area with time. Best performance with this plant is achieved when it is grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry periods and moderate frost. Liriope ‘Silver Dragon’ is an excellent choice for container growing, using in rock gardens, planting around outdoor living areas, or including in borders. It is best showcased with a mass planting either on a bank or as a groundcover.
