It grows as a large, soft looking mound to about 1 m tall and the same wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of short periods of dry, heavy soils, coastal conditions, and light frost. It may go dormant during winter in cooler climates to regrow when conditions warm.
