Cape Thatching Reed, Restio, Dakriet
Elegia tectorum, commonly known as the Cape Thatching Reed or Dakriet, is a restio grass from South Africa. It grows to 80 cm tall and the same wide with long and slender green foliage, and brown flower heads in autumn. Elegia tectorum is commonly used for coastal planting, added to borders, maintained in a container, or used to accent structures or other plant forms. It is a great plant for modern and pool gardens, or for complementing modern architecture.
