Carex flacca, commonly known as Blue Sedge, is an ornamental grass featuring green-blue foliage. It typically grows to 20 cm tall and will spread to cover 30 cm. It performs best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site, and is tolerant of dry periods, frost, cool climates, heavy soils, and coastal environments. Blue Sedge is commonly included in borders, maintained in a container, mass planted as a groundcover on a bank, or grown around outdoor living areas.
