Walnut Rex Details

Walnut Rex is a variety selected for its superior nut production. It produces high yields of medium-sized, flavoursome nuts in autumn. To achieve high yields, it is important to have another Walnut variety planted alongside to aid pollination. This is a fast growing and stately tree that will typically grow to 12 m tall and 8 m wide. The foliage is mid-green and develops yellow tones in autumn before falling. Walnuts grow best when planted in full sun on a well-drained, semi-sheltered site. They are tolerant of frost, cold environments, and dry periods. Walnut Rex makes a lovely specimen that can be grown alone or included in a mixed planting with the added advantage of tasty nuts.
