Senecio radicans, commonly known as the String of Bananas plant, is a succulent grown for its interesting, banana shaped foliage. It produces masses of the dark green shaped leaves held off trailing stems. The stems can reach 60 cm in length. Small, white flowers are sometimes borne during summer. It grows best when positioned in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained soil. It is tolerant of dry periods but must be protected from frost.
