Philodendron Rojo Congo is an impressive herbaceous perennial grown for its lush foliage and compact form. The broad and glossy leaves emerge copper-brown and gradually age to dark green. They are held off sturdy, red stems. When grown indoors it typically reaches 1.5 m tall and 1 m wide, but will grow to twice this this size when grown outdoors in favourable conditions. This popular plant performs best when planted in partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered, frost free site. Philodendron Rojo Congo is commonly grown indoors but is also well suited to including in tropical plantings or planting around outdoor living areas. It is a lush plant that is very forgiving and highly rewarding.
