Dracaena marginata 'Sunray'

How to grow Dracaena marginata 'Sunray' in NZ

Place Dracaena marginata 'Sunray' in a bright indoor spot with indirect light to maintain its vivid leaf colour. Plant in a well-draining potting mix and water when the top few centimetres of soil are dry. Reduce watering in winter and avoid letting the plant sit in water. Feed with a liquid indoor plant fertiliser every 4–6 weeks in spring and summer. Keep away from cold drafts and heating vents for best growth.

Dracaena marginata 'Sunray' care tips

Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust and enhance their shine. Rotate the plant every few weeks for even growth. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot, and if leaf tips brown, check for inconsistent watering, low humidity, or fluoride sensitivity—filtered water may help. Repot every 2–3 years to refresh the soil and encourage continued health.
