The showy orange and yellow blooms are borne off sturdy stems during summer and autumn, and are held above the lush, strap-like, green leaves. It grows as a clump to 50 cm tall and 40 cm wide, performing best when positioned in partial shade with a well-drained media and infrequent watering. It benefits from being rootbound as this restricts the amount of free moisture around the roots and therefore root disease.
