Cyclamen 'Snowridge Scarlet'

How to grow Cyclamen 'Snowridge Scarlet' in NZ

Grow Cyclamen 'Snowridge Scarlet' in a bright position with protection from hot afternoon sun and heavy frost. Choose free draining soil or quality potting mix, as cyclamen dislike wet roots. When planting, set the tuber or root ball at the same level it was growing in the pot and water thoroughly. Keep the soil lightly moist during active growth, allowing the surface to dry slightly between waterings. A sheltered patio, cool sunny porch, or lightly shaded garden bed provides ideal conditions for strong foliage and long lasting blooms.

Cyclamen 'Snowridge Scarlet' care tips

Cyclamen 'Snowridge Scarlet' benefits from careful watering, regular removal of faded flowers, and light feeding while it is actively growing. Water at soil level when the surface of the mix begins to dry, avoiding water sitting around the crown or tuber. Remove spent blooms and yellowing leaves by gently twisting the stems away from the base. Feed every few weeks with a diluted liquid fertiliser according to label directions. As flowering slows and foliage begins to die back, reduce watering and allow the plant to rest.

Cyclamen 'Snowridge Scarlet' size, spacing, and growth rate

Cyclamen 'Snowridge Scarlet' typically grows about 20 cm tall and 20 cm wide, forming a compact mound of foliage with flowers held above the leaves. Allow around 20 cm to 25 cm between plants for a full display while maintaining good airflow and room for each plant to develop. Growth is moderate during the cooler growing season, with fresh leaves and flowers emerging steadily in suitable conditions. Its tidy size makes Cyclamen 'Snowridge Scarlet' an excellent choice for small pots, window boxes, patio containers, and the front of sheltered borders.

Landscaping uses for Cyclamen 'Snowridge Scarlet'

Cyclamen 'Snowridge Scarlet' is ideal for decorative pots, window boxes, hanging baskets, sheltered patios, bright indoor displays, and planting near entrances. Its rich scarlet flowers create a vivid seasonal focal point and look especially effective when grouped in matching containers or combined with silver and green foliage plants. Use it to brighten a porch, dress an outdoor table, or add colour to a cool season garden bed. The compact habit makes Cyclamen 'Snowridge Scarlet' a practical choice for smaller spaces where reliable flower colour is wanted.
