Commonly known as Grape Ivy, this is an evergreen perennial grown for its colourful and trailing foliage. Hanging stems host leaves which emerge bronze and age to a fresh green colour. The foliage provides a rich display and often has dual colouring. It typically grows to 15 cm tall and 50 cm wide, and performs best when grown in partial shade (indirect light) with a well-drained growing media, and protected from frost. It is not tolerant of cold or drafty positions. Grape Ivy is commonly grown as a potted plant indoors and is well suited to office envrionments. It can be grown outdoors where conditions favour, and in these circumstances, suits being planted around outdoor living areas, planted to trail over a wall or to spill out over steps, included in tropical gardens, or simply maintained in a container.
