Calathea Rattlesnake care guide

Calathea Rattlesnake thrives in bright, indirect light and high humidity, making it ideal for warm, sheltered indoor environments. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch its distinctive leaves. Keep the soil consistently moist by watering when the top 2–3 cm feels dry, but ensure the pot has good drainage to prevent sogginess. Use filtered or rainwater whenever possible, as this plant is sensitive to chlorine and fluoride in tap water. To maintain vibrant foliage and prevent leaf curl or browning, mist regularly or place near a humidifier. Keep temperatures between 18°C and 24°C, and protect it from cold drafts or sudden temperature changes. Feed monthly during spring and summer with a diluted liquid fertiliser to encourage lush, healthy growth.
