Calathea louisae care guide

Calathea louisae thrives in bright, indirect light and high humidity, making it ideal for warm, sheltered indoor environments like bathrooms or kitchens. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged by watering when the top 2–3 cm feels dry. Use rainwater or filtered water whenever possible, as this plant is sensitive to chlorine and fluoride found in tap water. Maintain humidity by misting the leaves regularly or using a humidifier, especially during drier months. Keep the plant in a warm space with temperatures between 18°C and 24°C, away from cold drafts or heating vents. Feed monthly during the growing season (spring and summer) with a diluted liquid fertiliser to encourage vibrant, healthy foliage.
