Calathea Burle Marx care guide
Calathea Burle Marx prefers bright, indirect light and high humidity to thrive, mimicking its native tropical environment. Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy by watering when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Avoid using tap water, as the plant is sensitive to chlorine and fluoride—opt for rainwater or filtered water when possible. To maintain healthy foliage and prevent leaf curl or browning, mist the plant regularly or place it near a humidifier. Keep it in a warm spot with temperatures between 18°C and 24°C, away from cold drafts and heaters. During the growing season, feed monthly with a balanced, diluted liquid fertiliser to support vibrant growth and striking leaf patterns.
