Begonia 'Coral Mist'

How to grow Begonia 'Coral Mist' in NZ

Grow Begonia 'Coral Mist' in bright filtered light or gentle morning sun with sheltered conditions. It is ideal for containers, hanging baskets, and protected borders where the soil is fertile, free draining, and does not dry out completely. Plant into quality potting mix and position the crown at soil level. Water thoroughly after planting, then keep the mix evenly moist without allowing it to become waterlogged. Protect Begonia 'Coral Mist' from frost, strong winds, and harsh midday sun. Good light, regular moisture, and airflow encourage vigorous growth and a long flowering display.

Begonia 'Coral Mist' care tips

Begonia 'Coral Mist' benefits from regular watering and feeding through the warmer growing season. Water when the top layer of potting mix begins to dry, taking care not to leave the roots sitting in water. Feed every two weeks with a liquid fertiliser for flowering plants to support continuous blooms. Remove spent flowers and damaged leaves to keep the display tidy and encourage fresh growth. Protect plants from frost and reduce watering as temperatures cool. Begonia 'Coral Mist' performs best in a sheltered position with bright filtered light, steady moisture, and good drainage.

Begonia 'Coral Mist' size, spacing, and growth rate

Begonia 'Coral Mist' typically grows about 30 cm to 40 cm tall and wide, forming a full compact plant with lush foliage and showy flowers. Space plants approximately 30 cm to 40 cm apart in larger pots or sheltered borders so each plant has room to develop and air can move around the foliage. It has a fast growth rate during warm weather and quickly produces a generous flowering display with regular feeding and moisture. Begonia 'Coral Mist' is an excellent size for patio pots, window boxes, hanging baskets, and container combinations where rich coral colour is wanted.

Landscaping uses for Begonia 'Coral Mist'

Begonia 'Coral Mist' is ideal for patio pots, hanging baskets, window boxes, sheltered entryways, and bright outdoor living spaces. Its coral flowers create a soft colourful display against dark foliage, timber, pale walls, and modern pot colours. Use it on a covered deck or beside a door where the flowers can be enjoyed up close, or combine it with complementary foliage plants for a full container feature. It also adds rich colour to protected garden borders with filtered light. Begonia 'Coral Mist' brings elegant flowers, lush texture, and a welcoming finish to sheltered NZ garden spaces.
