Alocasia amazonica Ebony

Alocasia Ebony is an herbaceous perennial that is grown for its exotic foliage. The leaves are black-green with silver veins and very aesthetic. It typically grows 60 cm tall and 40 cm wide, performing best on a well-drained, frost free, sheltered site in full sun or partial shade when grown outdoors. It may die back in winter but will generally regrow again in the spring. Ebony is commonly used in mixed plantings, maintained in a container, added to tropical gardens, planted around outdoor living areas such as pools and the like, or mass planted around the base of larger trees and shrubs. It also makes for a wonderful indoor plant.
