Acalypha reptans Stephie is a perennial that is often grown as an indoor plant for its flowers and foliage. Short spikes of fluffy, red flowers are borne during spring and summer. These sit abreast of the fresh green foliage which are held on prostrate stems that can trail over the sides of pots and the like. It typically grows to 30 cm tall and 50 cm wide and can be trimmed as necessary. Best performance is achieved when it is grown in partial shade with well-drained growing media and protected from both frost and wind. Acalypha Stephie is commonly grown in hanging baskets or placed on shelves or a bench where it can trail. In subtropical and tropical climates, it is grown outdoors around pool areas or as a ground cover plant.
