Thymus citriodorus ‘Aurea’, commonly known as Citrus Thyme, is grown for both its foliage and flowers. The leaves on this herbaceous perennial, are lemon scented, small, and predominantly yellow. Through summer it produces lovely pink flowers which transform the plant and are great for attracting butterflies and the like. Citrus Thyme grows with a spreading habit to about 10 cm tall and 40 cm wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained site in full sun or partial shade. Thymus ‘Aurea’ is commonly included in herb gardens, grown as an annual, added to a mixed planting, maintained in a container, or mass planted for an amazing display.
