Origanum Bellissimo is a variety of Oregano featuring trailing foliage and interesting blooms. This bushy perennial produces wiry stems that carry small, blue-green leaves which are mildly aromatic. During summer the ends of branches give rise to the most amazing whorls of unusual, pink leaves that are petal-like in appearance. It typically grows to 20 cm tall and 40 cm wide, performing best when grown on a well-drained soil in full sun. While it is tolerant of cool climates, a moderate frost will knock it back. Origanum Bellissimo is commonly maintained in a container or hanging basket, included in a herb garden, or planted so the beauty of this plant can be enjoyed.
