Strelitzia alba, commonly known as the White Bird Of Paradise or White Strelitzia, features beautiful foliage and flowers. It produces spectacular white flowers with blue bracts through spring and summer. The foliage comprises large and glossy, dark green leaves which are aesthetic year-round. This herbaceous perennial typically grows to 4 m tall and 2 m wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. This Bird Of Paradise is tolerant of dry periods but must be protected from frost. Strelitzia alba is commonly included in tropical plantings, planted around pools and other outdoor living areas, used to line an entranceway, or maintained in a container.
