Scutellaria Snowflakes, commonly known as Scutellaria Skullcap or the Skullcaps plant, is grown for its foliage and flowers. This versatile and popular herbaceous perennial carries small green leaves hold on slender stems. The foliage becomes adorned with masses of white flowers during spring and summer. It grows as a small mound to about 20 cm tall and 30 cm wide, growing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It will tolerate light frost only and can be grown in coastal environments. Scutellaria Snowflakes is commonly grown in borders, used as a groundcover, included in cottage or “white” gardens, planted around outdoor living areas such as pools, or mass planted on a bank or the like.
