“Walkers Low” is a variety of the commonly known, Catmint, and is grown for its foliage and pretty flowers. This herbaceous perennial grows as low-growing mound of fragrant, grey-green foliage to about 25 cm tall and 50 cm wide. Short stems rise above the foliage bearing clusters of lavender-blue flowers through spring and summer. The display is quite impressive. Best results with this plant are achieved when it is grown on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun. It is tolerant of short periods of dry and light frost. “Walkers Low” is a versatile plant that is commonly used as an accent plant, grown alongside pathways or garden edges, added to herb gardens, maintained in a container, used in cottage gardens, or mass planted as a groundcover. It will attract cats and the flowers are great for attracting birds and bees.
