Hibiscus trionum, commonly known as the Bladder Hibiscus, Puarangi, or Flower Of An Hour, is grown for its single, white flowers with dark purple centres. They are held on upright, slender branches through summer and autumn. The foliage on this shrub comprises dark green leaves and it typically grows to just 80 cm tall and the same wide. Best performance with this plant is achieved when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site. It is tolerant of moderate frost and generally regarded as an annual or short-lived perennial. Hibiscus trionum is commonly used in mixed plantings, grown in a container, or added to a border planting.
