“Brass Lantern” is an herbaceous perennial grown for its colourful foliage and impressive flowering. The leaves are lovely shades of orange and red, and have a lush appearance. Dark flower spikes emerge above the foliage in summer carrying masses of small, white flowers. The combination of flowers and foliage is very appealing. It typically grows to 50 cm tall and 60 cm wide, performing best when planted on a well-drained, sheltered site in full sun or partial shade. It is tolerant of some shade, short periods of dry, and in cold climates it may die back during winter to regenerate in spring. “Brass Lantern” is commonly used for adding colour, to contrast with other plant colours, maintained in a container, included in borders, used in cottage gardens, or added to a mixed planting.
