Canna ‘Bengal Tiger’ is grown for its impressive flowers and foliage. It produces tall stems during summer that bear brilliant, orange flowers. The leaves are deep green with yellow stripes and add great aesthetic value to this plant. It grows as a clump and will typically reach 1 m tall and 75 cm wide. In cold climates the plants may die back during winter to regrow again in spring. Cannalilies grow best on a well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade though they are generally tolerant of cold environments and wet soils. Canna ‘Bengal Tiger’ is commonly used in tropical gardens, maintained in a container, planted alongside water features, added to mixed plantings, planted around outdoor living areas, or included in wetter areas of the garden. A mass planting is very rewarding with this variety.
