“Blue” is a compact, evergreen, clump-forming plant with a plentiful supply of stunning blue flowers through summer. The flowers are borne on solid stems above the foliage and are complemented nicely with the strap like, dark green foliage. It typically grows to 70 cm tall and 50 cm wide, growing best in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. Agapanthus are hardy plants and will grow well on heavier soils. They are also tolerant of cool climates, coastal climates, and dry periods. “Blue” is commonly included in border plantings, in mixed plantings, planted around the barbecue area, in cottage gardens, for cut flowers, or grown in a container. A mass planting looks spectacular.
