Grevillea poorinda ‘Royal Mantle’ is a fast growing, spreading shrub grown for its foliage and flowers. It produces beautiful, pendant spikes of red flowers which are held abreast of the lush foliage. The leaves are mid-green with new growth having red tones. The flowers are produced from spring through summer and are great for attracting birds. It typically grows to 1 m tall and 6 m wide, though can be trimmed as necessary. Best results with this plant are achieved when it is grown in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained site. It is tolerant of dry periods, coastal conditions, and moderate frost. Grevillea ‘Royal Mantle’ is commonly used as a groundcover, included in borders, used in coastal gardens, planted to attract birds, allowed to cascade over rocks, or mass planted on a bank.
